Dear God,
What do you think or feel about me?
This was the question I asked the teen girls at my first event for the new year with the We Want More Ministry. I then invited them to write down how God sees them on the clear plexiglass panel in front of me. These words included,
Beloved — you are mine. You are chosen!
You are loved.
I am here for you.
You are one of a kind.
You are a fighter.
Don’t base your life on what others think about you.
You are not alone!
I love you, let go of the fear that holds you.
You will go places!
You are not your disabilities.
I love you with silent gentleness.
You are my dear child, who loves to take care of My sheep.
You are precious.
You are a gem.
You are a treasure.
You are love and kindness.
Fearless and loved by GOD!
Rest in Him.
You are unconditionally LOVED!
In God’s eyes, you are His beloved child, the most beautiful treasure and the most precious child that He loves so deeply. The moment we believe and understand this truth and say, “Yes God, I am Your child,” we get to see the miracles He has in store for our lives — the small, the big and the ones that come in our waiting.
In his beautiful relationship with a Haitian orphan called, Chika, Mitch Albom comes to understand the deeper meaning in carrying her when her illness takes away her mobility, and then eventually, her life. He learns that his job was carrying her to the end of her journey —and today, he continues carrying her brothers and sisters in the orphanage —so wonderfully with extraordinary love.
And Our Heavenly Father so beautifully carries us through our lives in the same way. He’s always going to be with us and He’s never going to leave us. We are that important to Him. Even if we don’t fully understand right now, He wants to carry us so we don’t carry our burdens alone.
A little more than a year ago, I had the honour of meeting the extraordinary Mitch Albom at the Westport Library’s StoryFest Finale event in November 2021. The first memoir that stirred my heart as a youth was, “Tuesdays with Morrie”, so when he shared about the brave story of his beloved daughter, Chika, fearlessly singing I’m no longer a slave to fear, I am a child of God~, the stirring in my heart became even greater. And like at any moment when my hearts stirs with bravery, I knew that this encounter was no coincidence, but a special opportunity to share my heart with the children at the Have Faith Haiti Mission & Orphanage.
So this masterpiece is for Chika and her family at the Have Faith Haiti Mission & Orphanage.
May we always remember that we are called to carry one another as one family, deeply rooted in His love, as a child of God.

Romans 8:15-17 (TPT)
“you have received the “Spirit of full acceptance,” enfolding you into the family of God. And you will never feel orphaned, for as he rises up within us, our spirits join him in saying the words of tender affection, “Beloved Father!”
For the Holy Spirit makes God’s fatherhood real to us as he whispers into our innermost being, “You are God’s beloved child!”
And since we are his true children, we qualify to share all his treasures, for indeed, we are heirs of God himself. And since we are joined to Christ, we also inherit all that he is and all that he has...”
