it was a perfectfly imperfect day for us on the first day of 2022, with my children missing family back home and being stir crazy from having been stuck at home during the holidays to stay safe from the omicron wave.
so we took a trip to the beach (dragged the grouchy teen with us too). it was too foggy to see the sunset we had hoped to catch. But it turned out to be the perfect opportunity to turn our focus to our hearts and throw away our anger/madness/sadness/hurt/negative feelings that were weighing on our hearts with the rocks we aimed into the far distance of the water.
then we asked God, “What do you have for me in exchange?”
without fail, God showed up and filled our hearts with more of His love, grace and a renewed spirit and we left the beach with our footsteps feeling a lot lighter — ready to run and take flight into the new year with our renewed hearts….
what do you need to let go of to leap into 2022 with a heart filled with pure love and a heart that dares to dream and believe in the impossible being possible?
Psalm 51:10-13 (NIV)
“Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
Then I will teach transgressors your ways, so that sinners will turn back to you.”
