When my 8 year old little leo asked if he could paint a “big painting”, I welcomed him into our small sunroom which I have been humbly using as my art studio. It was fun to see his creative spirit come alive as he explored different colours, paints and art mediums that captured his curiosity.
What fascinated me the most was witnessing the freedom he was experiencing through creative exploration. And then, when he started to share his thoughts and feelings about his art from his pure and tender heart, I realised how he was illustrating the miracle of God, the miracle from Heaven that Jesus is.
In his words, he described Heaven, how Jesus is in the miracle and that Jesus is in Heaven with God.
In times like this, you have to wonder, who is our Rescuer when life around us gets torn down by a tornado and a pandemic that paralyzes the world in fear? Where is the peace that anchors our soul when the world is consumed by darkness and fear?
In John 11, Jesus displays his deep love and affection for his friends whom he cares for as his brother and sisters. He shares the truth that He is the one who brings life that is eternal through our faith in Him. He then invites us to simply believe by asking, “Do you believe?”
Life’s greatest miracle begins with a choice to believe in the impossible, a choice to be alive and free with hope and love that overflows instead of being enslaved by fear, the chains of our past and life’s burdens. Moreover, it is totally upto us to accept that open invitation. So… what is your choice?
John 11:25-26 (NIV)
Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?’
