painting a banner with girl scout troop # 50779 @SES

I got to paint with a special group of gifted and talented second grade girl scouts who had an opportunity to listen to their hearts by asking themselves what gifts they have to share with the world – such as their artistic and musical talent, voice, helping others and kindness.

The girls then took on the challenge to paint stars with their toes. Some started off with uncertainty and some with boldness as they stepped out of their comfort zone to try something new and unknown. Together, they were united as one in a creative experience that was teaching them about courage, perseverance, building confidence and being with one another. Once they painted all their stars, I was then able to complete the art to reveal a beautiful masterpiece at the end.

When we look at the stars the children painted, no stars were the same, just like us. Each and everyone of us is unique; we are not meant to be the same. We all have our differences, different gifts, talents and abilities that can be used as a superpower to make a positive impact. And it is when we come together as one, loving one another, being kind and sharing our gifts with others that we get to create something beautiful to change the world for the better!

What experience of togetherness has impacted your life?

Colossians 2:2 (ESV)

“that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, to reach all the riches of full assurance of understanding and the knowledge of God’s mystery, which is Christ”
